Music Of Nature

On the bridge I stand all alone,
Glancing down I see a stream flowing beneath me.
A tranquil atmosphere with only the music of the waves to satisfy my ears.

I observe as the rays of light dance with the waves,
A beautiful waltz most passer-by’s fail to recognize.
The stream invites everyone,
But most fall short of hearing its call.
The water soars along, dancing and singing.
As it flows, it smiles.
A small dimple forming on its crystal clear skin.

The trees engulf the brook,
Desiring a part in this stunning composition.
They lower their branches to touch the surface of the water.
A few stems escape from their morose existence and join in,
Holding hands of leaves that help them glide through.
A flower gently detaches herself from her mother,
As the song of the rivulet beckons her.

A few harmonious stones respond to the music,
And add their melodies to the orchestra.
While the stern and severe ones let the invitation pass.

Little baby birds chirp from their nests,
Wishing they could fly,
As they watch the streamlet with longing eyes.

I stand gazing down
As the musical dance travels away,
Entertaining many more along the way,
Who open their eyes wide enough to see.
